Is this the new website? How do I transition my subscription?
Yes! We are so excited to be launching the new Modern Makes Membership site, which is much improved with all new features! If you're an existing Modern Makes member, you can visit this page for instructions on how to quickly and easily get set up on the new site. Please note that the old website is no longer functional, so to cancel your old membership you will have to send us an email at [email protected].
What is the difference between the Digital Membership and the Subscription Box Membership?
All Modern Makes Membership subscribers get access to digital content at modern-makes.com. Subscription box members also get a complete kit to make the current project every month.
Where do I find the monthly patterns?
All Modern Makes Membership subscribers will be emailed the monthly pattern directly to your inbox. You may also find the pattern by logging into your account and navigating to the Modern Makes Membership button. You'll need to click on the Monthly Projects section where you'll find each pattern. Please note that if you are trying to download the pattern outside of its current month, it will not be found in this section.
I forgot to download my pattern before the end of the month!
No problem! The patterns are emailed to you every month directly now, so just check your inbox. If you aren't getting monthly emails, make sure you haven't turned off email notifications in your account settings.
When will my subscription box ship?
When you place an order or sign up for a subscription, you will be signing up for the following month’s box. So, if you subscribe any time in January you will then receive the February box. For inventory and planning purposes, the last day of the month is the cutoff to order the next months box. Boxes ship at roughly the beginning of every month, with most months being shipped by the 5th.
I cancelled my subscription box, but just got a notification that one is shipping. Why?
Remember that every time you are billed you are paying for the next month's box. So, after you cancel your membership you still receive the last box that you paid for. You can also check your account to ensure that your subscription was cancelled.
If I'm a subscription box member, can I skip a month?
Sorry, in order to keep our orders and inventory straight we are not able to skip months. If you are moving or have a change of address coming up, you can change your address by going to your account and clicking on "Subscription Box Membership".
How can I update my address?
To update your address, login and click "Update Address" in the dashboard. Make sure to use the same email address on your account when changing your address!

How do I update my payment information?
1. Log in to your account
2. Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Click "Settings"
4. Click "Billing Info" in the top right corner of the screen.
5. Under "Active Subscriptions", select the ellipses of the subscription you'd like to update and clicking "Update payment method".
How can I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your subscription at any time before it renews. If you wish to cancel, it is your responsibility to ensure your membership is cancelled before your re-billing date, and it must be done through your account. Follow the steps in the previous section on updating billing information, but select "Cancel this subscription" instead of "Update payment method".
When will I be billed?
You will be billed on the same date of the month that you joined.
Can I switch my membership from digital to a subscription box, or the other way around?
Yes, as long as we have subscription box openings! To change your membership, simply cancel your existing on and resubscribe to the membership you'd prefer by visiting the home page.
Why are there so many entries in my purchase history?
Your purchase history shows each subscription transaction. For the Modern Makes Membership, you will see two entries per month - one for the membership itself, and one for the community. In the image below you'll see that the price is referenced for both the membership and the community, but don't worry - that doesn't mean you're being billed twice!
