What is the difference between the memberships?

All Modern Makes Membership subscribers get access to digital content at Subscription box members also get a complete kit to make the current project every month. 

If I’ve signed up for a subscription box membership, when will my subscription box ship?

When you place an order or sign up for a subscription, you will be signing up for the following month’s box. So, if you subscribe any time in January you will then receive the February box. For inventory and planning purposes, the last day of the month is the cutoff to order the next months box. Boxes ship at roughly the beginning of every month, with most months being shipped by the 5th.

Can I purchase a subscription box some months if I’m a digital member?

Most months subscription boxes sell out. If, at the end of the month, there is an extra one available it may be possible to purchase it. You can always reach out and ask if one will be available, though I won’t know until the very end of the month.

Can I change my membership from a digital membership to a subscription box membership?

Yes, as long as there are openings. You can visit to determine if any subscription box membership openings are available, and if not you will have the option to join the waitlist. If you do join the subscription box membership, make sure to cancel your digital membership to avoid being charged for both!

Can I change my membership from a subscription box membership to a digital membership?

Yes! To do this, simply cancel your subscription by logging in to your account and going to “Subscription Box Membership”. Afterwards, go to, select the plan you’d like, and complete the checkout. Note that you will need to be logged in to access this page.

How do I update my address?

You can easily update your address in your account. If you are a subscription box member on a 3 or 6 month plan, contact us after updating your address to ensure that your address is updated for any boxes not yet shipped in your billing cycle. 

I’m having trouble logging on to my account. Help!

To view all of the digital content or manage your digital membership, make sure you are trying to log on here at instead of You can reset your password on the login page, and when you first sign up you receive an email with your username and password. If you are still having trouble finding the content or your account information, contact me and I can help you out.

If I’m a subscription box member, can I skip a month?

Sorry, in order to keep our orders and inventory straight we are not able to skip months. If you are moving or have a change of address coming up, you can change your address by going to your account and clicking on “Subscription Box Membership”.

When will I be billed?

Subscription box members will be billed on the 10th of every month. Digital members will be billed on the date of the month that they joined.

I’m confused about part of the pattern.

Make sure to check the current project’s page for any errata and additional information about this month’s project. You can view all the details about past projects under Resources -> Past Projects. We also have a Facebook group where you can discuss the projects with other members. If you are unable to find the answer to your question on the project page, feel free to contact me (though please note that I’ll be having a baby at the end of April, so response time will be slower than usual). 

How can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time before it renews by logging in to your account! To cancel your digital membership, go to your account and select “Digital Membership”. To cancel your subscription box, go to your account and select “Subscription Box Membership”. If you wish to cancel, it is your responsibility to ensure your membership is cancelled before your re-billing date, and it must be done through your account.

I didn’t cancel my subscription in time. Can I get a refund?

We can not refund subscriptions that have already been billed at this time. If you are having trouble cancelling your subscription via the instructions above, please get in touch and we can help figure out the issue. Once subscription boxes and digital memberships are billed, they cannot be refunded or returned.



How can I update my payment information?

For the digital membership, go to your account, click on “Digital Memberships”, and then click “Update”. For the subscription box membership, go to your account, click on “Subscription Box Memberships”, and then update the desired subscription.
